Obituary

KENNEDY (Thomas), Carolyn Joan – age 76 of Margaretsville, left this Earth on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, only to awake to find her beloved "heart dog", Sam Wheat waiting at her feet to go for a walk on the beach. Born at the Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital in Kentville on September 28, 1941, Carolyn was a daughter of the late Lorna (Clarke) and Louis Thomas. She grew up in Port Williams and attended Horton Academy and Acadia University where she got her degree in Music Education. She taught in Newfoundland, PEI and Nova Scotia (most notably at KCA) in a career that spanned over three decades. While Carolyn loved to travel and visited many wonderful places (her favourites being Wales and Greece) she was happiest spending time in Margaretsville at "Green Gables" and "Suitsus" and at her new home with her daughter, friends and adored granddogs and grandkittens. Carolyn is survived by her daughter Kirsten, granddogs Bubby Tundra and Gracie May; grandkittens Max and Tess and dear friend Nancy Klinghammer. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Graham Thomas in 2015. Carolyn, a passionate animal lover, requests that any donation in her memory to made to CATS R US (contact Debbie at (902) 765-4789) or to the Kings County SPCA to help less fortunate four leggers of the Valley. Cremation has taken place and at Carolyn's request there will be no visitation or service.
