Obituary

TOWNSEND, Carolyn Louise – 73 of North Kingston passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 14, 2016 with family at her side. Born in Middleton, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Nora (Woodbury) Longley. Carolyn was a graduate of West Kings High School class of 1961. She then went to Acadia University and graduated in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics. Carolyn worked as an engraver for 35 years for The Sundry Shop and Valley Drug Mart in Kingston. She was a lifelong member of the Kingston United Baptist Church, holding the position of church clerk for the last 25 years. Carolyn is survived by her husband Carman; daughter Patty (Allen) Pryde, Pinellas Park, Florida; son John (Sharon) Townsend, Moncton, NB; brother William (Mary) Longley, Shawnee Mission, Kansas; grandchildren Kaitlyn Pryde and Erin Pryde. She was predeceased by her brother John. By request, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place in the North Kingston Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17 th , 2016 in the Kingston United Baptist Church, Rev. Paul Bannister & Rev. Elizabeth Amirault officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. By request, family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Kingston United Baptist Church or a charity of choice.
