DeMone, Catherine Josephine ~ age 102 passed away peacefully on Friday, December 6, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Blue Rocks, NS she was a daughter of the late Howard and Pearl (Tanner) Tanner. Catherine had a heart of gold and was the matriarch of the family. She enjoyed cooking and baking and going fishing with Gary, who she lived with since 1994. Catherine loved her Christmas and taking care of everyone. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Catherine is survived by her son-in-law, Gary Josey (Judy Stephens), South Williamston; grandchildren, Denise Josey (Shaun Drolet), East Tremont; Deanna (Mike) Banks, South Farmington; Debra Foley, South Shore; Kathy (Ray) McCormack, PEI; Jennifer Tanner, South Shore; Mitchell (Amanda) DeMone, Bridgewater; Stacey DeMone, Bridgewater; several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ivan DeMone; longtime companion, Eldon Schwartz; daughter, Patricia Anne Josey; son, Wayne Ivan DeMone; sisters, Margaret DeMone, Gladys Biermann, Hilda Wamboldt, Lucille Drolet and brothers, Maxwell and Morton. In keeping with Catherine's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A heartfelt thank you to VON, Home Care and Nursing for all their care and compassion.
