Obituary

AALDERS, Cecil Eric "Rick" ~ Age 63, of Kingston, formerly of Berwick, Kings Co. It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of Rick, on May 31, 2020, at home, with his beloved dog Leah. Born on November 3, 1956, in Kentville, he was a son of Eleanor M. (Rand) Aalders, Grand View Manor, Berwick, and the late Cecil E. Aalders. Rick was a well-known carpenter, who specialized in stairs and finish work, he also enjoyed building and refinishing furniture. Growing up, Rick, was always involved in sports, he played hockey, basketball, baseball, and enjoyed time spent curling at the Berwick Curling Club. Rick was an avid reader and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. Rick had a charming smile and easily made friends which continued on into adulthood with his friendly demeanor and outgoing personality. Rick took a special interest in others, especially his nieces and nephews. He was always eager to help them and so many others out. He will be greatly missed by all that had the privilege to know him. Besides his mother, he is survived by sister, Roxanne Liebrock, Windsor, Ont.; brothers, Randall Aalders, Barss Corner; Aaron (Patricia) Aalders, Fall River; Brian (Donna) Aalders, Waterville; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.  Rick was predeceased by his father and infant sister.  Cremation has taken place. Interment will be in Berwick Cemetery, at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to a charity of your choice.
