Obituary

McKNIGHT, Cecil Thomas "Mick" – of Meadowvale, Annapolis Co. August 21, 1930 – October 6, 2016. Born in Saint John, N.B., he was the second of four children to the late Wesley John and Ester (Craig) McKnight, who had immigrated from Ireland in 1927. After a short stint in retail with Woolworth's, Mick joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and was posted to Baden, Soellingen, Germany, where he met and married Barbara (Patterson). They had four children, Charles Thomas (Nicole), who have a son, Kristofor (1991); Laura Jean (Bruce), who have two daughters, Theresa (1983), who has a daughter, Reagan (2010) and Angela (Robert) (1984), who have a daughter, Emma (2010) and sons, Wyatt (2012) and Kellen (2015); Kenneth Allen (Edouard); Kathleen Ava (Mark), who have two children, Jennifer (1998) and Jarrod (2000). After a long and prosperous military career, Mick retired in Greenwood, sold real estate for a time and after retiring from that enjoyed travelling and golfing with Barb. He is survived by his wife of 57 years; four children; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He is also survived by his brother, Hugh (Gen) and their children, Troy (1970) and Joy (1973). He was predeceased by his brother, Wesley and sister, Jeanie. In keeping with Mick's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. He was a very good man and will be greatly missed Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., Middleton, N.S.,  (902-825-3448).
