It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of twin brothers, Chad James and Trevor Andrew Newton, age 50 on May 17, 2025. Born in the Grace Maternity Hospital in Halifax on April 27, 1975, they were the sons of the late Robert Newton and Karen (Peters) Veinot. They grew up in the Middleton area and spent the last 27 years in Calgary, Alberta as construction tradesmen. They returned home from Calgary six months ago with the assistance of their brother, Troy. Both young men enjoyed the outdoors: Trevor especially loved fishing and camping, and Chad was more interested in physical fitness and reading. Chad and Trevor are survived by their brother, Troy (Amanda) Greenwood; stepsister, Jennifer (Nick), New Glasgow; stepbrothers, Bradly, Vancouver, BC and Nick (Cassidy), Halifax; niece, Kyla Mansfield; great niece, Payden Mansfield. Chad and Trevor were predeceased by both sets of grandparents, Newton and Peters; mother, Karen; father, Robert; several uncles, aunts and cousins. Despite their personal struggles, they were always willing to help anyone in need. Sadly, like so many others, they fell through the cracks of the Mental Health System.
