ADAMS, Charles Purdy 90, of Nictaux Falls passed away Friday, April 15, 2011 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Berwick, he was the son of the late Charles and Ida (Lantz) Adams. He served in Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany in the Second World War overseas in the 1st Armoured Division with the Three Rivers Tank Regiment. Purdy was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Middleton Branch No. 1 and had worked with Thompsons Transfer Ltd. and North American Van Lines for many years. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Estelle Adams; daughter Johann (Joe) Kyte, Belleville, Ont.; son Gary (Gini) Adams, South Farmington; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Evelyn Waddell, Vera Shaw and Thelma Ward. Funeral service will be held 2:00PM Monday, April 18, 2011 in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery. By request, family flowers only. Donations in Purdys memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, CNIB or to charity of choice.
