Balcom, Charles Herman – Age 79 of Nictaux, Annapolis Co., passed away Friday, January 27, 2023, in Blomidon Court Shannex Long Term Care, Greenwich, Kings Co. Born in Middleton, Charlie was a son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Mailman) Balcom. Another "Old Driver" is gone. Charlie spent his adult life proudly dedicated to the moving business starting from helper to driver to management, and ownership with some of his fondest memories doing the long lonely runs across Newfoundland in the 60's & 70's, working with the "old boys". In later years he enjoyed more leisurely trips to Western Canada and the Southern US. His heart and soul was always at Waterloo Lake where he will return in spirit to his camp and rejoin past family and cronies in the aura of the oil lamp and crackling wood stove. He is survived by his eldest son, Don (Karen); brother, Joe; sister, Alma; companion, Marilyn Hibbs. Besides his parents, Charlie was predeceased by his youngest son, Peter; sister, Marjorie; brothers, Bert and Terry. Sincere thank you to the caring staff of Blomidon Court, Greenwich.
