Obituary

DAHLGREN, Charles Elwood "Charlie" ~ Age 63, of North Kingston, Kings Co., N.S., passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the home of his sister in Melvern Square, after a brief illness. Born on March 8, 1962, in Deep River, Ontario, he was the beloved son of Anna M. (Mullen) Dahlgren, Berwick, and the late John K. Dahlgren.

Charlie was a jack of all trades and had been employed at several jobs during his life including farming, mechanical, plumbing, construction and electrical.  He liked to tinker and help others. "charliebuilt" is what he would say when completing any special project he had taken on.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, the former Peggy L. Sangster; daughter, Virginia Moore (Matthew Propp), Bridgewater; step son, Charles Ashley (Nicole), Lantz; grandchildren, Amberly, Sylvia, Abigail and Lauren; sisters, Joanne Hyduk (Kevin), Greenwood; Marlene Dahlgren, Mississauga, Ontario; Wanda Hatfield (the late Eric), Melvern Square; several nieces and nephews, including a niece that was special to him, Dominique Dahlgren.

A time in celebration of Charlie's life will take place from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, April 12, in Kingston Lions Hall, 1482 Veterans Lane, Kingston. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Kingston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like a special thank you to Dr. Luma LA Al-Ameri for the compassionate care given to him and the family.
