Obituary

FAHIE, Charles (Charlie) (Red) Edward, 79 - Tremont, Kings County. Here it is Tuesday 8 November and today surrounded by my immediate family, I have gone on to join the members of my family and my friends who have gone before me. I myself will mourn the loss of family and friends whom I've left behind, but will hopefully be either playing crib, bingo or relaxing in a nice warm waterbed until their arrival. I was born December 13, 1931 to the late Charles (Henry) and Cecilia (Day) Fahie in East Ship Harbour, Halifax County, NS. Surviving is the mother of my children and dear friend Shirley (Rogers) Fahie/Collins (John), my precious children: son, Avery & Sharon (Burhoe), Timberlea; my daughters, Charlene, Tremont; Bonnie Zwicker (Brad Ryckman) Greenwood. Grandchildren James & Melanie (Allen) Fahie, Matthew Fahie, Heather (Fahie) & Matthew Williams, Katrina Fahie (Robin Smith), Teanne Zwicker, my brothers, Lloyd, East Ship Harbour; Murray, East Ship Harbour; William & Muriel (Rice), Lower Sackville; Wallace, Saskatoon and my sister in-law, Geline Fahie, East Ship Harbour. I was predeceased by my grandson Tristan Zwicker, my brothers, Aubrey, Garfield, Percy, Avery, Guy; sister, Irva; and my sister in-laws, Mae, Connie, Stella, Faye and Eva. I was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force from which I retired in 1976 and then went on to a second career working CFB Greenwood until my final retirement in 1987, after which I took up the sport of full/part time crib and bingo. I have been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #98 Kingston for the past 39 years, and a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force Association 107 Valley Wing Greenwood for the past 23 years. At my request there will be no visitation, as cremation will take place under the direction of Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. There will be a Legion/RCAF Tribute followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM Saturday 12 November at the Queen of Heaven Chapel 2 Church Street, CFB Greenwood, Father Tim Nelligan officiating, with burial to follow at Saint Lawrence Cemetery in Kingston. Following my burial there will be a reception held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #98, 1472 Veterans Lane in Kingston. Donations in memory may be made to Royal Canadian Legion Kingston Branch #98 Poppy Fund or Charity of Choice. Online Guest Book may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
