HARRIS, Charles D. Pete 89, of Lawrencetown, NS passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Digby, NS, son of the late P.C.R. and Erdine (DeWolfe) Harris, Pete grew up in Lawrencetown. At the age of 50, following a heart attack, Pete began painting, releasing a truly remarkable gift. His work was featured in many group and solo shows. His paintings hang in private collections across Canada, the US, Britain, and Europe. He is survived by daughter, Anne Harris, Halifax; son, Gordon Harris, Vancouver, BC; grandchildren, Kate Harris (Andrew Forsyth), Burnaby, BC; Casey Harris, Montreal, PQ; Molly Harris, Vancouver, BC; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Auldeen, and sister Betty E. Harris. As Pete did not want a funeral a private family graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Middleton, Mel Malton officiating.
