MACDONALD, Charles Havelock age 92 of Kentville passed away Monday, February 22, 2016 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Jordanville, Guysborough County he was a son of the late Henry Havelock and Maude Mae (Jordan) MacDonald. Charles was a veteran of the Second World War serving overseas with the North Nova Scotia Regiment. Later he joined Royal Canadian Air Force as a driver mechanic and heavy equipment operator. After retirement Charles joined the Civil Service working several winters doing snow removal with CFB Greenwood. Charles was a believer in God's son, Jesus Christ. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and truly loved the outdoors. He and Mabel enjoyed travelling to the southern USA and in later years, they enjoyed gardening and looking after their home grounds. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, the former Mabel Kaiser; daughter, Holly Sezaire (Kevin Gray), New Minas; sons, Layton (Freda), Berwick and Scott, Nictaux; sister, Joyce (Kenneth) Mills, Port Hilford, Guysborough County; grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Slauenwhite, Berwick; Michelle (Josh) Long, Nictaux; Kory MacDearmid, Kimberly (Chuck) Crocker, and Mitchel Sezaire all of New Minas; great grandchildren, Chloe, Aslyn, Sadie, Jovi, Eli, Kayden, Kaleb and Calie. Sis-in-law, Mary MacDonald, Garland, NS. Nieces, Beverly, Ardith and Shirley and nephews, Bruce, Blair, William "Bill", Rolly and Shawn. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Calvin. Visitation will be held 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Wednesday, February 24, 2016 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855- 825-3448, where the funeral service will be held 2:00PM Thursday, February 25, 2016 with Rev. Thelma McLeod officiating. Interment will be in the East Black Rock Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Bethany Memorial Baptist Church, Aldershot or charity of your choice.
