Obituary

McColm, Charles "Scott" ~ age 66 of Weymouth, NS passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, in QEII Halifax Infirmary. Born in Scarborough, ON he was a son of the late Douglas and Dorothy McColm. Scott was a mechanic and loved working on vehicles in his younger years. He was a machine operator with JD Irving, sales representative for Snap-on Tools and a long-haul truck driver. Scott was known as a great cook, enjoyed fishing and was affectionately known as "Grumpy" to his grand-children as they had trouble saying "Grampy" when they were younger. He loved his family dearly, especially all his grandchildren. Scott had been taking care of Marilyn's "Mom" Margaret Denholm for the past 8 years who he cared for deeply and also lived with them. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Scott is survived by his loving wife; Marilyn (Denholm); daughter, Amy McColm (Joe Hutchings), British Columbia; sons, Chad McColm (Audrey Burton) Kitchener, ON; Joseph "Joe" McColm (Tara Saulnier), Yarmouth; Douglas "Doug" McColm (Madison Barkhouse), Weymouth; James "Jimmy" (Nicole) McColm, Weymouth; sisters, Zoe Kessler, Owen Sound, ON; Melissa(Glenn) Pimentel, Cambridge, ON; Roxanne Vanderveen, Abbotsford, BC. Grandchildren Matthew, Damon, Nicholas, Hailey, Brayden, Ian, Hayden, Zachary, Tristan, Rayne, Liam, Easton, Sadie, Anthony.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Andrew "Andy" McColm and his birth mother Donna Ness. In keeping with Scott's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00PM Thursday, December 1, 2022, in Havelock Wesleyan Church, Hassett, NS with Pastor Shawn Craven officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Donations in Scott's memory may be made to the St. Bernard Fire Department.
