Obituary

 TYE, Charles William ~ Age 89, of Nicholsville, Kings Co., N.S., passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born on August 5, 1936, in New Glasgow, Pictou Co., he was a son of the late Palmer W.B. and Mary E. (Goodyear) Tye. 

 Charles was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was a member of the Kingston congregation. He was always an animal lover and had raised goats and chickens. Charles worked as a chef and cook and had been employed at several places including restaurants and the local community college. 

 Surviving are his wife of 42 years, the former Doris A. Hiltz-Ward; daughters, Robin Wicks, Stouffville, Ontario; Darlene Smees (Eric), New Glasgow; sons, Charles Tye Jr. (Jeni), St. Albert, Alberta; D. Paul Tye, Edmonton, Alberta; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, V. Elaine MacLellan, New Glasgow; brothers, Johnny and Robert Tye, both of New Glasgow; several nieces and nephews. 

 Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sons, Peter Maurice Tye in infancy and Richard Tye; sisters, Mary Ellen (Donald) MacLean and Florence (Blair) Long; brother, Harold Tye. 

There will be no visitation. Memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 19, in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 337 Highway 1, Kingston, with Bo Janes officiating. Interment will take place in Morristown Cemetery, at a future date. Donations in his memory may be made to your favourite charity.
