Cheryl Ann
Guier
September 17, 1954 – December 13, 2021
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Cheryl Ann Guier, a loving and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Surrounded by the love of her family, Cheryl died peacefully on December 13, 2021, at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
Born on September 17, 1954, in Stanley New Brunswick, Cheryl was the daughter of the late Kitchener and Margaret (Neilson) Daw. She met her husband Kevin, the love of her life, as a teenager when her family moved to Freeport, Nova Scotia. Together they spent 47 years devoted to one another and raised four wonderful sons. Cheryl's greatest gift was her family. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren immeasurably, and rarely missed an opportunity to spend time with them. Cheryl was the rock of our family.
Cheryl loved her time in the kitchen. Her family, friends and community will never forget the amazing breads and baked goods that came out of her oven. She gained great pleasure from watching others enjoy her favourite recipes. Cheryl enjoyed knitting/crocheting, playing bingo and winning her favourite card games. Her work at the Brier Island Lodge and Freeport Whale & Seabird Tours allowed her to socialize with others, something she always loved to do.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband Kevin; their sons, Terry (Donna), Kitch (Heather), Michael (Lindsay), and Mitchell; Grandchildren, Dana, Aynsley, Peyton, September, Madison, Ryan; Great-grandchildren, Avery, Morgan, Sadie, Emily; Brothers, Terry (Christine), Bob (Wendy), Rick; Sisters, Lesa (Ron), Angela (John), Sister-in-law - Mary Ann; many nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends Roach and Leona Shearer. She was predeceased by her brothers Kenny, Marvin, and Doug.
Cheryl was a beautiful woman and a gift to all who knew her. We will never forget her strength, resilience, and courage. The positive outlook she carried was a model for all of us to follow. Our lives have been forever enriched by her love, kindness, and care for others.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and doctors on 3-South at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Their care and compassion during this very difficult time will always be remembered. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 12, in Freeport Baptist Church. Due to current pandemic gathering restrictions, there will be limited numbers at the memorial service. Masking and hand sanitizing are required at all indoor and outdoor ceremonies.
