Christopher David Armstrong

Beloved

Christopher David Armstrong was born in Halifax on 24 September l951, passed away surrounded by love and family on the 30th of May 2O26, at the Valley Hospice in Kentville, NS. Chris worked as a Civil Engineer in a variety of positions within Nova Scotia. He was the Project Engineer with the Department of Transportation in Middleton until he retired. Chris was a fair and conscientious manager. He believed in doing the job right the first time instead of going back and fixing it. He was a prolific record keeper who held his contractors accountable and his workers up to date on safety measures. He believed in upgrading and mentoring those who wanted to advance their positions and helped many do that. Chris resided in Waterville with his loving wife Belinda for the past 19 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Gerald Robert and Sheila Mae (Hilchie) Armstrong; brother, Ronald Armstrong; and brother-in-law, David Walsh. Chris is survived by his wife the former Belinda Doherty; stepchildren, Jeni Gauthier (Eric) Bishopville; Colin Morris (Ryan), London Ontario; three grandchildren; 1.5 great grandchildren; brother, Michael (Janet) Mount Uniacke; sisters, Patricia Walsh (David) Dartmouth; Karen MacDonald (Bruce) Lake Echo; and Deanna Armstrong (Seldon) Lake Echo. He also has three nieces; four nephews and one grandnephew. Chris was the center of our universe. Family always came first. A big brother/father figure, he loved his sisters and their families and often gave them council and support. He discussed and listened to advice from his brothers and his brother-in-law and had many interesting and humorous conversations recounting past experiences. He treated his wife, Belinda as his "Queen Bea" and had the opportunity to be a father figure to his stepchildren and their families - one that he never thought he'd share as he didn't have any children of his own. Chris was a good friend and would do anything for his in-laws. He loved and cared for his extended family deeply. Chris was a man who knew how to love unconditionally and wasn't afraid to show it. He will be mentioned and lovingly remembered in future gatherings where we will share stories and memories to honor his wonderful life. Cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life with a private graveside service in Berwick Cemetery, at a later date. We the family, want to send our appreciation and thanks for the care given to Chris by the Victorian Order of Nurses, Palliative Care and especially the Valley Hospice in Kentville, NS. Donations in his memory may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, Valley Hospice Foundation or the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, Middleton, toll free 1-855-825-3448. Online guest book may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
