Obituary

SPINNEY, Clare Havard - 78 of Kingston passed away Wednesday, July 28th, 2010 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Greenwood Square, he was a son of the late Howe and Bessie (Parker) Spinney. Clare spent most of his working years in Centreville where he and his wife Jackie operated Spinneys General Store. He was also a school bus driver with W.C. Rooney Transportation Ltd., Canning for many years. Clare was a member of the Kingston Baptist Church and a former member of the Centreville Baptist Church. He was a member and past master of Markland #99 Masonic Lodge, Kingston and an affiliated member of Kentville #58 Masonic Lodge. He was also the recipient of a 50 year jewel from the Masonic Lodge. Clare is survived by his wife the former Jacqueline Jackie Farnsworth. Son, Tom (Elizabeth), Middleton; granddaughter, Mary, Bridgewater; brother, Ellis (Irene), Greenwood Square and sister, Mary Norman, Bridgewater, nieces, Janice, Glenna and Wynne and nephew, Alan. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, July 30th, in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 from where Markland #99 Masonic Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2010 from the Kingston Baptist Church, Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Interment will be in the Aylesford Union Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of choice.
