Obituary

HIRTLE, Clarence Moyle - age 85, Wilmot, NS passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in North Kingston, he was a son of the late Harold and Lucy (England) Hirtle. Clarence worked as an automobile mechanic from 1957 to 1986. Upon retiring, he worked as a janitor at Simon's Co-op in St. John, NB. Clarence was a wonderful cook, was known to be a great gardener and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Surviving are his stepson Hank (Corene) Durland, Lawrencetown; grandson Leigh (Megan) Durland; granddaughter Megan Durland; great granddaughter Addison Durland and great grandson Liam Durland; sister, Lois Penny, Nictaux; brothers, Walter (Betty), Kingston; Donald, Wilmot; William, Tremont; Howard, Ontario and Carl, Mt. Uniacke. Besides his wife Jean (Durland), Clarence was predeceased by brothers Alton and Lester. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Donations in Clarence's memory may be made to Twelve Baskets Food Bank. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448.
