NICHOLS, Clark ~ Age 87, of Berwick, Kings Co., N.S., passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on April 23, 1939, in Berwick, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Geraldine B. (Clarke) Nichols.
Clark was a veteran member of Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Department, with many hours spent as dispatcher in the radio room. He had been employed at Sawlor Fuels for 40 years, delivering oil to many homes and businesses in the local area. Clark was a great sportsperson, playing badminton and softball. He later coached minor league ball and was inducted into the Berwick Sports Hall of Fame. Clark and Gertrude loved the time spent at their cottage in Turners Brook.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, the former Gertrude G. “Gertie” Andrews; brother, Edward (Hetty), Nichols, Kentville; sister-in-law, Ruth Nichols, Middleton; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Robert “Bob” (Rita) Nichols; sister, Shirley (Gilbert) Moir.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. All are welcome to attend a graveside service that will take place at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 21, in Berwick Cemetery, Main St., Berwick, with Rev. Layton MacDonald officiating.
Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Department, Victorian Order of Nurses ~ Annapolis Valley Branch or to your favourite charity. The family would like to say thank you to Clark’s physician, Dr. Michael Sinclair as well as Dr. Kathryn Cull and staff at Valley Regional Hospital for their care and assistance given to Clark.
