MACCORMICK, Clifton Decker -86 of Middleton, formerly of Torbrook passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 in Heart of the Valley LTC, Middleton. Born in Bear River, he was a son of the late Vernon and Vera (DeLong) MacCormick. Clifton served overseas during the Second World War. He spent 25 years in the military. He enjoyed working in the woods and making maple syrup in the spring of the year. He also enjoyed woodworking and carving and loved his dogs and cats. He is survived by daughter, Vera MacCormick (Andy Scott), Torbrook; son, Derek (Susan) MacCormick, Elmsdale, Halifax County; brother, Cyril (Mary) MacCormick, Fairview, Halifax County and brother-in-law, Alister Milner, Brooklyn, Queen's County and grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Matthew, Joseph and Andrew. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, the former Ilse Wenske and sister, Pauline. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Bear River.
