SHAW, Clinton Bent - 88, of North Williamston and Middleton passed away at Mountain Lea Lodge on December 5, 2014. Born September 20, 1926 he was the son of the late William and Mora (Bent) Shaw. Clinton worked as a master stone cutter for Nixon Monuments Ltd. and in later years worked at Frank Illsley Woodworking Ltd. Clinton enjoyed gardening, both vegetables and flowers, as well as spending time in the woods hunting and fishing. Although he had no formal training as a carpenter he was skilled in this area. He was also an avid reader who could converse easily on a variety of topics. Clinton was a gentle man and a gentleman, who always had a smile and a kind word for everyone he encountered. Clinton will be lovingly remembered by daughters Valerie (David) Thomas, Wolfville, Laraine (Boyd) Jagoe, Port Williams, sons Jeffrey (Cindy) Shaw, Moncton and Chris (Carolyn) Shaw, Karsdale; grandchildren, Andrew Thomas, Ashley Thomas, Kathleen Jagoe, Adam Jagoe, Chelsea Shaw and Joseph Shaw. He will be sadly missed by half-sister Rosemary (Preston) Allen and step-sister Irene MacMurtery, as well as brother- in-law Edwin (Carol) Merry. Clinton was predeceased by his wife Joyce (Merry) Shaw, step-mother Kate (Sellars) Shaw, brothers Charles and Willis, sister Mora, as well as half-brothers Robert and Ralph. The family is most grateful for the kind and respectful care Clinton received at Mountain Lea Lodge the past 3 1/2 years. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m., Wednesday, December 10th, 2014 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 11th, Rev. Danny Smith officiating. A reception will follow the service. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Albany.
