STRADER (Mills) Colleen Mavis ~ Age 86, of Middleton, Annapolis Co., N.S., passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on October 1, 1938, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Cornelia N. (MacFarlane) Jones.

Colleen was a housewife and in earlier years enjoyed cake decorating and going to church. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. Colleen will be remembered for baking the best short bread cookies for those she loved.

Surviving are her daughter, Cindy Mills, Urbania, N.S.; sons, Byron (Shirley) Koenig-Mills, Wolfville, N.S.; Mark (Karen) Mills, Victoria, B.C.; grandchildren, Caroline (Paul), Sean (Kevin), Sarah (Marcel), Chimene (Bill), Brandon, Gabrielle (Greg) and Tyler; great grandchildren, Orlando, Emilia, Maddy, Ryker, Tyson, Charlotte, Marco, Charlie, Augustus and baby Juniper expected in January; sister, Vicki (Brad) Wolfe, Sydenham, Ontario; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by first husband, M. Reginald Mills; second husband, Gerald R. Strader; sister, Joyce Riley; brothers, Eldon and Randy Jones.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorial service followed by a reception will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 23 , in Billtown Baptist Church, 742 Steadman Road, Billtown. Lic. Angela Pound officiating, with interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville. Donations in her memory may be made to your favourite charity.
