HARDING, Cyril James – age 85 of Middleton, NS passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 28, 2017 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Little Harbour, Shelburne County, he was a son of the late James and Leona (Swansburg) Harding. Cyril retired after 25 years with the Royal Canadian Air Force as an Instructional Supervisor in Instrument Mechanics and later was employed for 9 years with Atomic Energy of Canada as a Radiation Technician. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 01, Middleton and loved hunting and fishing. Cyril had a passion for baseball, which he played in his younger years, and later enjoyed playing golf. Cyril also enjoyed gardening, bingo and socializing with others. He is survived by his daughters, Shelley (John) Silke, Brockville, ON; Bonnie Ramsden, Middleton; sons, Brian Harding and Michael Harding, both of Ottawa; grandchildren, Ross Silke and Adam Ramsden; step-children, Bob (Jan) Howse, Halifax; Theresa (Harold) Kennedy, Enfield; Richard McKee, Terri McKee and Steven McKee all of Ottawa. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Avora; brothers, Robert Shirley Harding and Norman Harding and sister Elsie Harding. In keeping with Cyril's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Little Harbour United Church , Shelburne County with Rev. Kevin Cox officiating. Interment will be in the United Church Cemetery.
