Kenneth Nogler
January 23, 1952 – August 17, 2023
Nogler, Daniel Kenneth – Age 71 of Greenwood, Kings Co., passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Thursday, August 17, 2023, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late Albert and Marie (Purvis) Nogler.
After many years working at various jobs Dan started his career at Michelin in Granton then moved to Bridgewater and finally retired in Waterville after 33 years of service. While in Bridgewater he started the 1st Bakers Settlement Boy Scouts Club and was a member of the Bakers Settlement Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a coach of the Bridgewater Blue Jays minor baseball team for several years.
Dan had a passion for gardening and would spend endless hours in his gardens. Dan could often be seen butting in the lineup at the Tim Hortons drive through on his scooter, but usually made it right buy buying the person a coffee. After his wife of 52 years Sharon suffered a stroke in 2008, de dedicated his energy to learning and supporting other families who suffered from brain injuries and started the first BIANS Annapolis Valley. Dad was a devoted family man and always enjoyed planning family get-togethers! Dan loved Sharon with all his heart and the love they shared was truly inspirational. He will be dearly missed by many!
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; sons, Rick (Melanie), Troy (Renee), Curt; grandchildren, Jazlyn, Kaylen, Kayla, Kelsey, Samantha, Daniela Jo, Logan; sisters, Betty (Vernon) Caldwell, Kingston, Carolyn (Rick) Green, Halifax, Cheryl Durham, Halifax; brothers, Paul (Ruth), Charlottetown, PEI, Bob (Sarah), Conn's Mill, Scott (Angela). Wilmot; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Dan was predeceased by great grandson, Daniel James; brother, Ron (Belinda), Bridgewater; sister, Connie (Craig) Quartermain.
The family would like to sincerely thank the many care workers that helped to improve his quality of life for the past several years. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2023, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll free: 1-855-825-3448 where a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2023. Rev. Leon Langille officiating. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 98 Kingston, all are welcome.
