WHYNOT, Darlene Kimberly ~ age 57 of Brickton, NS, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, in the QE II Health Science Centre - Victoria General Site, Halifax, NS.  Born December 21, 1965 in New Glasgow, NS, she was a daughter of the late Wilbert and Iris (Dorey) Selig. Darlene was employed for many years as a Continuing Care Assistant at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown and considered her coworkers to be her second family. She was a collector of gnomes, loved cardinals and angels. Darlene devoted her life to her family, especially her grandchildren.  They were her life and motivation. Darlene is survived by her husband of 29 years, Wayne (they were together for 40 years); sons, Scott (Devann) Whynot, Middleton; Matthew (Ashley) Whynot, Brickton; grandchildren, Flynn and Mackenzie; sisters, Sheila (Eddie) Patriguin, Wentworth, Elizabeth (Bill) McLain, Bridgewater; Cindy Selig, Hillsborough, NB; brothers, Randy (Valerie), North River; Tony (Helen), Truro and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Darlene was predeceased by her brothers, Joey, Willie and Eddy; sister, Judy. In keeping with Darlene's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown. Donations in Darlene's memory may be made to the Mountain Lea Lodge Recreation Department.
