Obituary

LeBLANC, Darrel Roy Gerald 57, of Kingston, passed away Thursday, February 17th, 2011 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton, following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Born June 27th, 1953, in Amherst, he was a son of the late Albert and Frances (Hurley) LeBlanc. Darrel was born, raised and educated in Amherst. He travelled the world with the Canadian Armed Forces, from which he retired after 24 years of service. Darrel was an active member of Branch #98 Royal Canadian Legion, Kingston, where he enjoyed playing darts and bingo. But his greatest enjoyment came from the times he spent with his grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife, the former Jennifer Hatton are daughters Cheryl Dorey (Alan Harrison), Springhill, Jill (Michael) LeBlanc-Pastuck, Greenwood and Melissa LeBlanc (Shawn Morrison), Kingston; Grandchildren Taylor, AJ, Chad, Koree, Hunter, Brooke and Mylah, 4 sisters, 2 brothers and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 1 sister and 2 brothers. At Darrels request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service, followed by a reception will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26th in the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448, Rev. Deacon Don Boudreau officiating.
