Obituary

Rozee, David Evered – Age 82 of Kingston formerly of Greenwood, Kings Co., passed away Monday, March 14, 2022 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born March 22, 1939 in Halifax, David was a son of the late James and Jean (Baird) Rozee. A Gentleman's gentleman, Dave enjoyed 30 years of service with the RCAF, rising the ranks from Corporal to Warrant Officer. He started as an airframe technician using non-destructive testing as the tool for his trade, then later worked as a technical writer with Boeing and IMP. His successful career led him back to retire in his home province of Nova Scotia after many travels, tours and time in his second home of Scotland. Dave loved to help people, it was just his way, and his family meant everything to him. Making them happy was what he lived for. He enjoyed coaching hockey and baseball and was an active cub and scout leader in the early days. He loved to cheer on his kids in track and field and football.  Dave was a devoted husband who built his family a home, board by board, on the south mountain overlooking the Annapolis Valley where they remained for many years.  He was an ardent, self-taught carpenter, who studied wood-types and refinished antiques as a past time. Dave was the voice of reason; he was a man of few words but people would always lean in a little closer when it was his turn to speak. He was the last remaining sibling of his immediate family and he endured the struggles of living with multiple sclerosis for 30 years with no complaints. Dave often said, "there is always somebody worse off than me." Dave loved to laugh, that was his thing! He absolutely loved a good joke or a funny movie. Always happy through thick and thin. He definitely has passed that on to his grandsons. Leaving behind his wonderful wife of 62 years, Alexanderina (Rena) Rozee (nee Jeffery), one son David (Janice), their two sons, Neil (Victoria), Keigan (Kirsti), one daughter Linda, and her son, Macael (Lacey). Dave also had the pleasure of meeting his two great granddaughters, Elenni and Della. Besides his parents, David was predeceased by siblings, Joanne, Bobby, Jim, Ken, Beverley, Barbara, Joyce and Dorris. A memorial service will take place at 2p.m. Friday, March 18th in Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main St., Middleton toll free 1-855-825-3448. Rev. Deacon Don Boudreau officiating.
