Obituary

SCHOFIELD, David Murray "Dave" - age 52, of Waterville, Kings Co., passed away peacefully with family and friends at his beloved cottage at Lake George, on Monday, August 21, 2017, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Berwick, on March 2, 1965, he was the youngest son of Eugene W. Schofield, Waterville, and the late Juanita F. (Lightfoot) Schofield. David was a veteran member of the Waterville & District Volunteer Fire Department, with 29 years of service and had been a safety officer. He was the co-owner of Atlantic Arborists, Kingston. Besides his father, he is survived by his soul mate and loving partner of 27 years, Angie Keddy; sister, Donna (Wayne) Johnstone, Waterville; brother, Everett (Debbie Hohn) Schofield, New Minas; nephew, Chad (Melissa) Schofield, Sackville; father and mother-in-law, Allister and Linda Keddy, Black Rock; brothers-in-law, Ben (BJ) Keddy, Morristown; Charlie (Anita) Keddy, Black Rock; Daniel (Lindsay) Keddy, Prospect; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. There will be no visitation. All are welcome to attend a funeral service honouring David's life at 3 p.m., Saturday, August 26, in the Waterville & District Volunteer Fire Department, Cornwallis Square Village Hall, 1415 County Home Rd., Cambridge. Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating, with a reception to follow. Donations in his memory may be made to Carey Me Fund - Supporting Palliative Care in the Home, Victorian Order of Nurses, Annapolis Valley Branch or to Waterville & District Volunteer Fire Department. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Lori Burgess and Katrina Patterson of Palliative Care, Victorian Order of Nurses, Cathy Cooke, Charlie and Anita Keddy in fulfilling Dave's wish to spend his final days at the lake.
