SULLIVAN, David Malcolm ~ age 75 of Middleton, NS passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. David, born in Saint John NB, was predeceased by his parents, Allan and Doris (Hutchinson) Sullivan and his sister, Deborah Henderson. He retired from his position of Safety Officer with the Province of Nova Scotia and during his tenure he received recognition as employee of the year. Prior to this, he was the Supervisor of Fire and Safety at Michelin North America for the Bridgewater & Waterville plants; served with the Canadian Armed Forces as a Corporal in the Fire Department; was the EMC coordinator for Lunenburg County and the Town of Bridgewater in the 1970's; was a past member of the Berwick & District Fire Department and was chairman of Industrial Fire Committee at the Nova Scotia Firefighter School in Waverly for twelve years. David has been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Greenwood and served as Branch President for six years. He is survived by his wife, Glenna (Dondale), Middleton; siblings: Linda Meehan, Bains Corner, NB; Stuart (Deborah) Sullivan, Summerville, NB; Wendy Sullivan, Saint John, NB. children: Corinna Sullivan (Billy Joe McBride), Greenwood Square; Patricia Langille, New Germany; Michelle Sullivan, Toronto, ON; Mervin Sullivan (Shayna Rawding), Middleton; grandchildren: Wade Moriarity, Jessica Spicer, Matthew Hynes, Samantha Slaney, Branden and Morgan Langille, great grandchildren: Kohen and Jaxen Moriarity and Adalynn Zwicker. Step-children: Sheena (Peter) Rector, AB; Kendra (Shannon) Peyton, AB; Aaron (Polina) Dondale, Centreville; step-grandchildren: Keisha, Taylor, Sydney, Dallin, Callie, Benjamin, and Lydia Rector, Zakari, Leah, and Sofie Dondale. David is sure to be missed and remembered by all who know him.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 18, 2019 at the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 with President Richard Kinner officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Donations in David's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation.
