Obituary

Dean Alexander Williams, 50, of Stewiacke NS, died suddenly at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax, on Oct.18, 2020, with his spouse Elizabeth by his side.

Dean was a kind, generous man who went above and beyond to help friends, family, and strangers. He always gave to people in need; whether it was buying groceries and gift cards for anyone who needed a hot meal or offering the blankets, he purposely carried in his vehicle to anyone he found sleeping in the cold.  Dean volunteered many hours with Habitat for Humanity and other various community organizations and charities.

Dean loved nature and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying all seasonal hobbies. He loved the outdoors, and whether it was working outside, in his workshop, helping Allan and Andrew in the garage or just spending time at the camp with his brother-in- law David, he was happy. He loved going on family road trips that always included the love of their life, their dog Tessa.  Dean's love of learning and acquiring new skills provided the opportunity to pursue his passion for travel by being able to move as his work needed throughout Canada. He was certified in Forestry Technician, Crane Operation and CNC machining. He had always been an incredibly strong man, but his strength was even greater in his final days with us.

He is survived by his spouse, Elizabeth Leddicote, who is going to deeply miss the love, comfort, and strength he gave her every day. His mother-in- law, Sheila Leddicote, sisters-in-law Vivienne (David), Lynda (Lenlie), brother-in law Martyn (Norah) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves behind many friends, who he loved spending time with, including his friend since childhood, Mark.

He was predeceased by his father, Ronald Williams, mother, Phyllis Gillis (nee MacLean) and brother, Brett. Uncles, Ralph Williams, Dale Williams, Keith Williams, Kenneth Williams; father-in-law, John Leddicote and brothers-in-law, Dean and Lenlie.

Donations can be made to Hope for Wildlife, Habitat for Humanity or any local animal shelter.

At Dean's request there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448. A private interment will take place at a later date. Online guestbook may be signed by visiting: www.middletonfuneralhome.com
