Obituary

Dexter, Deborah Anne “Debby” – 63, Lower Clarence, Annapolis Co., N.S., passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. If you’re reading this, then I am no longer here but I am in spirit. I am holding my daughter’s hand in one hand and reaching for my son’s hand with the other. I’ll be with all the kitties we saved: Moshee, Gingy, Mya, and my love, my Cricket. In my 63 years 25 days, my book of life has been an interesting one of sorts – good and bad. I’ve made some great friends, and so many are on the other side. To my best friend, Karen, I hope you will be alright, don’t worry, I’ll pop in from time to time, ha ha. I’m ok, my battle is over. Out of all the chapters in my life, my kids were the best. I worked at NHNH/Saunders Rest Home and in private care. I was able to find my birth parents, cousin Joe, twin sisters, my aunt Nellie, and uncle Norris. Surviving are my husband, Rick Dexter; daughter, Emily Covert; stepdaughter, April; stepson, Kenny; grandchildren, Angel, Bjorn, Abigail, and Kaden; extended family including special daughter, Kari; grandson, Tristen; granddaughter, Brooke. I love you all. To the people I liked and loved, and if I liked you or loved you, you were lucky. If I didn’t, you didn’t have a prayer. I seldom forgave and I never forgot. I’ve cheated death six times but this time, death won. In the end, it always does. Along with my parents, I was predeceased by my son, Blake “BJ” Walker, aunt, Nellie Hubley; and foster brother, Jon Boudreau. My hobbies included painting, quilting, listening to heavy metal, reading Stephen King novels; baking; and collecting animal skulls and other weird things. There will be no service in keeping with my wishes. Donations may be made to any cat rescue shelter. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, 1-855-825-3448.
