Obituary

MCDOW, Delbert Foster-age 85 of North Kingston, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 at home in North Kingston. Born in New Ross, he was a son of the late Harry and Clara (Keddy) McDow. Delbert retired from O.H. Armstrong after 35 years. He farmed while working at O.H. Armstrong's, which later became a fulltime occupation. Along with his daily farming activities, he also enjoyed working in the woods. Delbert enjoyed attending exhibitions where he competed in the ox pulls as well as judging the competitions. In addition, he judged many 4-H events throughout the Province. He is survived by his wife, the former Olive Levy; daughters, Jane (David) Smith, New Glasgow; Catherine (Donald) MacIntosh, Truro and Annette McDow, Alberta; sons, Steven (Joanne) McDow, Greenwood; Jeffrey (Rossalyn) McDow, Alberta and Brian (Michelle Keddy) McDow, North Kingston; sisters, Emma McNally, Grand View Manor, Berwick and Vivian Rafuse, Parkdale, NS; brothers, Basil McDow and Waldo (Marilyn) McDow, both of New Ross and 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Marguerite and Thora; brothers, Carl, Alton, Harold and Ray. By request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, June 29, 2016 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Paul Jennings officiating. Private family interment will be held in North Kingston Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
