Diane Arlene Sampson, age 69 of South Tremont passed away peacefully on Monday September 18, 2017 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, after a long hard fought battle with cancer. She was born in Middleton on November 30th 1947 to Filson and Aileen Keddy. She grew up in Kingston with her sister, Brenda (Frank). Diane wed the love of her life, Ron Sampson, in 1968 and they lived happily ever after, married for 49 years. Together they brought up Gail (Darren) and Stephen (Natalie). Diane treasured her nieces, Kelly (Sean) and Kamy. Diane graduated from Teacher's College in 1968 and Acadia in 1981. She taught primary in Kingston for many years. She aimed to make each student's first year in school the very best. In her retirement, Diane loved her volunteer work. She created flower arrangements for the church and sang in the church choir. Diane and Ron cherished the time they spent with her sister, Brenda and their brother-in-law Frank. They spent quiet nights at home and travelled together. Diane adored her grandchildren, Jack, Elliot, Paxten and AnnaWen and her grand-nieces, Lily and Leia. She loved music, flowers and going for long drives in the car or on the four-wheeler. She believed in hand-written thank you notes and could cook up a storm. Diane was predeceased by her parents and her brother-in-law, Frank. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request of the family. A funeral service will take place Saturday, September 23rd at 2:00 p.m. from the Kingston United Church, Rev. Linda Winton officiating. By request, family flowers only, in lieu please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
