STEWART, Diane Carol-55, of Lawrencetown, NS, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, June 26, 2010, in the QEII New Infirmary, Halifax, NS. Born in Montreal, she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Georgina (Cuthbert) Cr. Diane will be remembered fondly as a kind friend, a loving mother, and a devoted wife. Diane worked for many years in the retail sector, holding many management positions. But her most important position was the role she fulfilled as supportive mother and wife. Diane had a gentle and accepting nature and was a nurturer at heart. Diane was active in her local community, and often volunteered to help out with fundraising and other local projects. She was an ardent fan of her children's sporting and music activities. She loved to dance, walk the dogs, spend time in the garden and visit with friends and family. Diane is survived by her husband, Paul Stewart; sons, Joshua Burke, Wolfville and Caleb Burke, Halifax; sisters, Lillian, Myrtle, and Joan, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister, Joyce, and brother, Maurice. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM, Friday, July 2, 2010, in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448. Mel Malton officiating.
