Obituary

MacTAVISH, Donald Murray Alexander ~ Age 85, of Kingston, Kings Co., passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.  He was born in Liverpool, Queens Co., on November 3, 1934. Donald had worked for over 40 years as a jeweler and clock repair, owning D.R.L. Jewelers, Kingston, for many years. He had been an original member of the Greenwood Players and had a true passion for working on M.G. Cars. Donald was an avid lawn bowler in Kingston and Bridgetown and once attended and played in the Canadian Lawn Bowling Championships. Surviving are his daughter, Tama (Bruce Arenburg) MacTavish, Black Rock; granddaughter, Melissa McLean; great grandson, Seth Whalen, both of Bedford.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, the former M. Louise Parks; son, Rue MacTavish; brother, Roy Deal.  There will be no visitation or service. Donations in his memory may be made to Valley Regional Hospital Foundation or to Victorian Order of Nurses – Annapolis Valley Branch.
