CROWELL, Donald Everett "Donnie" age 63 of Bridgetown, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, February 9, 2018 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS. Born in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late Douglas and Laura Faye (Lowe) Crowell. Donnie started his career with Beaver Fruit Co-op in Lawrencetown, later working for various local grocery stores as a meat cutter. He was a softball coach, loved camping and enjoyed watching sports, being an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Donnie lived his life for his grandchildren and was better known as "Gumpy", "Grampy" and "Bampy". In the last few years, he enjoyed visiting his friends at the Bridgetown Legion, where he was an associate member. Donnie will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 24 years, Brenda (Hunt); son James William Millman (Mellisa Weisbrodt) of Halifax; daughters Shelley Lynn Creaser (Michael Archambault) of Halifax and Stephanie Millman (Daniel MacDonald) of  Bridgetown; sisters Kathy (Rolly) Jenner of New Minas and Penny (Donny) Simms of Dartmouth; grandchildren  Alissa, Jessica, Olivia, Ethan, Alexis and Peyton; nieces and nephews Sean and Patrick Simms, Ashley and Adam Jenner and Jodi Crowell; father and mother in-law Bill and Caroline Hunt of South Williamston. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Douglas "Kim" Crowell. In keeping with Donnie's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 14th in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., 902-825-3448 with Rev. Patty Beals officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown. Donations in Donnie's memory may be made to the VON Annapolis Valley Branch.
