HIRTLE, Donald Louis – 78, Wilmot, Annapolis County. "Donnie" quietly passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016, surrounded by family and friends in Soldier's Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born June 13, 1937 in North Kingston, Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late Lucy (England) and Harold Hirtle of North Kingston. He is survived by sons, Donald "Corky" Hirtle (Denise), Garland; Douglas (Tara), Cambridge; daughters, DeeAnn (Kevin Rhodenizer), Viewmount; Dawn (Steven "Rooster" Crouse), Wilmot; grandchildren, Jesse Hirtle, Danielle Small, Emilee and Jacob Hirtle, Samantha and Kayla Crouse, Amber Hirtle; great-grandchildren, Madison, Khloe and Georgia O'Hara, Calleigh Swindell. He is also survived by former wife Donna (Parrish) Hirtle; brothers, Walter, Carl, William and Howard; sister, Lois; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Lester, Elton and Clarence; granddaughters, Michelle and Beth Hirtle. Honouring Donnie's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home.
