Sabean, Donald Marshall - 99, of Port Lorne, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023 in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Port Lorne, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Marguerite (Marshall) Sabean and loving husband to his wife Doris for 75 years. Donnie was well known as a quiet, hardworking man. In his younger years he worked in Halifax, Saint John, N.B. and the United States. In Port Lorne, Donnie worked his farm for many years, which included raising dairy and beef cattle, poultry, sheep and goats; working several teams of oxen; spending many hours on his tractor working his hay fields and planting many gardens. He planted his last garden in his 90s. Donnie was also a carpenter during his working years and really enjoyed his time working for Ed Hamilton Construction in Lawrencetown with his sons Wayne and Brian. Donnie enjoyed reading, step dancing, travelling, company, carving, darts at the local fire hall, fishing, hunting (he shot a ten point buck when he was 80) and eating in restaurants.  Especially in later years, Donnie's favorite pass time was sitting in his rocker gazing out his east door window at his fields with his dog Sport at his side. Surviving are his daughters, Donna (William "Bill") Hayes, Nictaux; Debra (Robert) White, Halifax; Frances (Gary) Connell, Clarence; Marilyn (Kevin) Cvitkovich, Halifax; son Wayne (Kathy); daughter-in-law Linda, brother Ronald, all of Port Lorne; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Doris (Neaves); son Brian; sister Audrey; brothers Kenneth, Claude, Dean and Ray. Visitation will be held 6-8 pm Tuesday, June 13 and funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 14, 2023 all in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448. Rev.
