It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Laverne Aker on Thursday, December 12, 2024, in Valley Hospice, Kentville, at the age of 80. She was a daughter of the late Boyd and Edna (Pelton) Hazelwood, of Somerset. Surviving are her son, Rob Johnson (Shanon May); daughter, Shelley Johnson (John Foster); grandchildren, Alix Lynk Johnson (Alex Kienapple), Courtney and Josh Foster; Brooke and Cassie Johnson; sister, Sylvia (Charles) Wagstaff.  Donna is also survived by her companion and best friend, Bryan Thomas; and many nieces and nephews. Donna was predeceased by her husband, Robert "Bob" Aker; also her brothers, Delma, Gerald, Harley, Curtis and Wylie; and her sister, Audrey Hazelwood. Cremation has taken place with interment at a later date in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life in the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 98, 1472 Veterans Lane, Kingston, starting at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 31 , with Branch Chaplain Wade Seymour officiating.
