Donna Mae Scotney (Sweeny) ~ 69 of New Ross, Lunenburg Co.,

Donna passed away on March 22, 2025, at home.

Born in Berwick, NS on November 6, 1955, she was the daughter of Charles Robert Sweeney (deceased) and Phillis Laura Sweeney (Houghton), Evergreen Coldbrook.

Donna worked retail all of her life. Working in Metropolitan in Greenwood for many years and many years at Home Hardware.

You could find her most times in her chair, cross stitching, doing puzzles or reading a good book.

Donna is survived by her husband, Martin Scotney, New Ross.

Three children, Michael Sweeney, Alberta; Lori Best, Aylesford; Danny Best (Debbie), New Albany.

Seven grandchildren:

(Michael) - Michelle, Josh, Madison and Mikayla (Alberta)

(Lori) - Taylor (Japan)

(Danny) - Karlea (Halifax), Ellie (Wilmot)

One great granddaughter born to Michelle, also in Alberta.

Siblings: Brian (Greenwood), Marilyn (Aylesford), Gayle (Alberta), Sherrill (Berwick), and was previously deceased by Brenda.

Donna is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a few close friends.

Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 27, in Berwick Cemetery, Main Street, Berwick, with Rev. Evan Colford officiating.
