Obituary

Doris passed away peacefully at Heart of the Valley long term care Home on December 10th.  After a long battle with dementia, she now joins her lifelong love Donnie in a better place. Together they are both free of pain and suffering.  She will be sadly missed by all those who loved her but we are happy that she is free.  Doris was born on November 19, 1935, in Charlo, NB but grew up in Mordon, NS.  She married Donnie in June 1955.  They were married 68 years and have not spent a Christmas apart in all those years.  It brings us peace and joy knowing they will be together again for Christmas.  Doris and Donnie had 4 daughters, Teresa, Susan, Judith and Nancy.  Those daughters gave them 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Grammy, as she was known, will be missed by all of us.

Doris and Donnie spent the beginning of their married life living in Welton's Corner running the Ogilvie family farm.  They raised cattle, grew fruit and made their famous apple cider.  Later in life they retired from the hard work of running a farm and moved back to Doris's hometown of Morden where they got to enjoy the things they loved most like camping and friends.  In their final years they moved to Berwick before their health made it necessary to go to Heart of The Valley Long Term Care home.

The family would like to thank everyone who took time in their days to call and visit Mom in her last years.  We would like to send a very special thank you to the staff at HOTV who were always so kind and good to her despite her having some "bad "days.

As per her wishes, cremation has been arranged and there will not be a service.  A private family graveside burial will happen where she and Donnie will be laid to rest together.
