ARENBURG, Doris Rose ~ Age 79, of Kingston, Kings Co., N.S., passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026, in Valley Hospice, Kentville, and had donated her corneas to give someone the gift of sight. Born on October 16, 1946, in East Dalhousie, N.S., she was a daughter of the late Ralph E. and Alma B. (Veinotte) Bezanson.
Doris lived life to the fullest and had spent time volunteering at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 98, Kingston, Kingston Lions Club. Veterans Affairs Canada Unit in Middleton and at numerous others. At the time of her death, she had been a school crossing guard for the village of Kingston.
Surviving are her son, LeRoy Arenburg (Dianna Morse), Morristown; numerous grandchildren; step grandson, Johnathan Rheaume, Oklahoma (who she felt especially attached to and would look forward to his visits and making him her famous coconut cream pies); brother, Joey Bezanson, Kingston; former husband, David Arenburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Vance, Harold, Lawson and Alfred Bezanson; sisters, Pearl Joudrey and Amy Ewing.
A private interment will take place in North Kingston Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Lodge that Gives, Halifax.
