CROUSE, Doris "Leola" – 91, of Nictaux Falls, died February 3, 2016 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, always surrounded by her family. Born in Nictaux South, she was a daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Woodworth) Burns. Leola was a long time member of the Nictaux Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Nictaux Friendly Club and the Nictaux Volunteer Fire Department Firettes. Leola had a great love of music and enjoyed playing organ, guitar and loved flowers. Leola loved a good game of cards called "Queens". She had deep love for her family and will be dearly missed. Leola is survived by her children Marilyn (Roger) Godin, Stirling, Ont., David (Linda), Windsor, Ont., Lawrence "Larry" (Catherine Walker), Nictaux, Valerie Wyles, Halifax, Glen (Brenda), Wilmot, Cathy Pidgeon (Paul Holland), Meadowvale and Sheldon (Helen), Halifax; 13 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Ivadelle "Ivy" Cross, Nictaux Falls; brothers Wilfred (Goldie) Burns, Nictaux Falls and John Jr. Burns (Linda Palmeter), Halifax. She was predeceased by her husband Henry; infant son Terrance "Terry" and sister, Elmyra "Minie" L'Arrivee. Leola's family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Home Care as well as the staff of Blue Herron and Sparrow Units at Mountain Lea Lodge for the care and love they provided to her until the time she passed. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Saturday, February 6th in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 7 th in the Nictaux Baptist Church, Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Interment will be in the Nictaux Cemetery.
