Obituary

GEDDES (O'Neill), Doris Anne ~ Age 72, of Waterville, Kings Co. With hearts full of gratitude for a life well lived, we the family are sorry to share the passing of a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Doris passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, in Valley Hospice, Kentville, after a lengthy illness. She was born on June 25, 1949, in Berwick, and was a daughter of the late Calvin A. O'Neill and Margaret W. (Saltzman) O'Neill.

Doris remained in the community of Waterville all of her life, living on the farm with her husband, Darrel for the past 52 years. Over the years she worked in housekeeping at Western Kings Memorial Hospital, Berwick. Doris loved camping and travelling to local music festivals along the shore. She especially loved hitting all the local yard sales and would always come home with something. Special memories include seeing Niagara Falls with her daughter, and all the family celebrations over the years.

Surviving are her loving husband, Darrel B. Geddes; her children, Randy (Shelley Dewolfe) Geddes; Heather (Steven) Wilson; and David (Bekki) Geddes; she will be missed by her grandchildren, Chelsie, Tyler, Austin, Logan, Ava, Hunter and Andrew; brother, Robert O'Neill, Rockland; several nieces and nephews. Doris had a great love for animals and will be sadly missed by her cat, Scrappy.

Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m., in the evening of Monday, March 21, in Waterville Baptist Church, 1243 Mill St., Waterville, from where the funeral service will take place at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 22. Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating, with interment in Berwick Cemetery.Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to Waterville & District Volunteer Fire Department, Waterville Baptist Church, Valley Hospice Foundation or to your favorite charity. The family would like to say a special thank you to all the staff at Valley Hospice for their care and compassion shown to Doris and the family.
