Hawkesworth, Doris Marie – 93, of Bridgetown, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024 in Valley Hospice, Kentville. Born in Spa Springs, she was a daughter of the late Nellie and Malcolm Welton. Doris worked in the Bridgewater hospital for many years, both in the kitchen and with the cleaning staff. Surviving are her daughters, Madelyn Hawksworth, Lawrencetown; Kathy (Wayne) Sabean, Port Lorne; sons, Fred (Susan) Thibault, Middleton; Albert (Carrie) Hawkesworth, Wilmot; Marty (Michelle) Hawkesworth, Lawrencetown; brother Walter Welton, Ontario; 16 grandchildren; step grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James "Jim"; twin sons in infancy; sisters Melzonia, Elmira, Florence; brothers Charles and Johnny; son-in-law Robert Amero. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 in Hampton Cemetery, Hampton, NS. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
