MARTIN, Doris Marguerite -Who just celebrated her 90th birthday, of Kingston, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Tibbett's Home for Special Care. She was surrounded with love by family and staff. Doris was the daughter of the late Harry and Ella (Hiltz) Slauenwhite. Surviving are sisters Gladys Toole and Linda (Alden) Neiley all of Kingston; daughters Vida (John) Mercer of Edmonton, Alberta and Dawn (Carroll) Randall of Bridgewater; grandchildren Allison (Eric) Covert, Halifax; Matthew Randall, Toronto and Lindsay Randall, Waterville; great grandchild Andrew Covert, Halifax and honorary great grandchild, Lucy Raye Whynacht, Mermaid, PEI; also numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, George, Leland, Seldon, Ervin, Duane and sister, Alice. Doris lived in Kingston all her life and was a very active member of the Evangeline Rebekah Lodge #32 and was the treasurer for 36 years. She was a life member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary and also a life member of the Kingston Fire Auxiliary. Her wicked sense of humour and strong opinions will be missed by everyone. Doris wanted to sincerely thank the staff and residents at Tibbett's for their love and care over the past four years as she truly enjoyed her time spent there and her family would also like to express their appreciation for all the hugs and kisses she received. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 2:00PM to 4:00PM Saturday, February 22, 2014 in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448 where the memorial service will be held 4:00PM Sunday, February 23, 2014 with Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Interment will be in North Kingston Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Kingston Fire Hall. By request, family flowers only.
