Nixon, Doris Bernice – Age 87 of East Margaretsville, Annapolis Co., passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Digby, she was a daughter of the late, Charles and Sreatha (Hudgins) Hardwick. In her earlier years, Doris drove Rural Route for Canada Post and worked at Middleton Dry Cleaning. She also helped work the family farm. Doris enjoyed baking, skating, playing cards and cribbage. She will be missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Teresa "Terry" Nixon, East Margaretsville; son, Mark (Sue) Nixon, East Margaretsville; sisters, Marguerite Powers, Tangier, Velma Corbin, Kentville, Patsy Banks, Middleton; sister-in-law, Diane Hardwick, Aylesford. She will be missed by her beloved cat, Lucky. Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Nixon; sisters, Alberta Hardwick and Jaunita Deseules; brothers, Ronald and Robert Hardwick.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., Toll Free: 1-855-825-3448. Rev. Ian Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Bay View Cemetery, Margaretsville. A reception will follow at Margaretsville & District Fire Hall.
