Sabean, Doris Gertrude – 93 of Port Lorne, NS passed peacefully with her family by her side in Soldiers' Memorial Hospital, Saturday February 8th, 2020. Doris had been a resident of Mountain Lea Lodge in Bridgetown for just over four years. Born in Port Lorne NS, Doris was a daughter of the late Archibald and Charlotte (Sabean) Neaves. Doris is survived by her loving husband of 75 years, Donald; children, Donna (William) Hayes, Wayne (Kathy), Debra (Robert) White, Frances (Gary) Connell, Marilyn (Kevin) Cvitkovich; grandchildren, David, Gregory, Jason, Keith, Carla, Danielle, Jody, Teena, Christine, Shaun, Justin, Jennifer, Michael, Kenny, Derek, Andrea, Zachary, Taylor; step grandchildren, Kyle, Crystal, Kevin; several great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Lewis; former sister-in-law, Alice Hyslop; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Doris was predeceased by son, Brian (Linda); brother, Vernon (Frances) and brother-in-law, Amos Lewis. Doris was strong willed and not afraid to speak her mind. She loved to cook and bake. At Christmas a table was lined with fancy sweets and the freezer always had homemade bread, doughnuts and pies. Any friend that visited around meal time was invited to join the family at the table. Doris really enjoyed talking on the phone and her hearty laugh would fill the room. She knit, read, liked attending local baby and wedding showers and going to Frenchy's. Doris enjoyed talking about Port Lorne's history and researching the family genealogy. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday February 11 ^th in the Middleton Funeral Home (398 Main St., Middleton, N.S. Toll Free 1-855-825-3448) where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday February 12 ^th . Rev. Dr. Danny Smith officiating. Interment will take place in Fundy View Cemetery, Port Lorne.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fundy View Cemetery in Port Lorne, NS or a charity of choice.
