Obituary

KEDDY, Dorn Lewis ~ Age 87, Aylesford East, Kings Co., N.S. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father, Dorn Lewis Keddy, on September 12, 2018, in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Aylesford East, on May 1, 1931, he was a son of the late Robert Ainsley and Helen "Nellie" Jane (Turner) Keddy. Dorn was a resident of Aylesford East where he operated a farm, a farm machinery business, trucking business, as well as doing custom farm work. People called on him to fix their machinery from miles around. Dorn loved going to card parties and playing 45's at the Aylesford East Community Centre. He was also Church Warden at the St. Mary's Anglican Church for many years. He is survived by his son, Dwight (Tasha Freeman) Keddy, Aylesford; daughter, Shelley (Tim) Joudrey, Kentville; granddaughter, Kelsey Keddy and grandson, Darcy Joudrey; brother, Alden (Linda) Berwick; sisters, Ester Chute, Kentville; Florence Carter, Somerset; and Marguerite Field, New Minas. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Muriel Keddy; an infant son, Ainsley Keddy; brothers, Alfred, Morris, Gordon and Henry Keddy; as well as his nephew, Garnet Keddy who was more like a brother to Dorn.We would like to express our extreme gratitude to the doctors and nurses on the medical floor at Soldiers Memorial Hospital who went above and beyond in caring for Dorn. There will be no visitation. Funeral service to be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 22 , in St. Mary's Anglican Church, 20 Morden Rd., Auburn, with Reverend Mel Malton officiating. Interment will take place in St Mary's Anglican Church Cemetery, Auburn. A reception to follow at the church. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses - Annapolis Valley Branch or the St. Mary's Anglican Church in Auburn.
