ATWATER, Dorothy Marie - 81, of Meadowvale, passed away peacefully Friday, December 27, 2013 in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in Centrelea, Annapolis County, she was a daughter of the late Dennis and Amy (Mader) Amirault. Dorothy was a member of the Torbrook United Baptist Church and a former member Kingston Branch #98 Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Several years ago, she was recognized as the Volunteer of The Year for Annapolis County by the Province of Nova Scotia. Dorothy is survived by sons, David (Rita), Kelowna B.C.; Allan (Mary Anne), Meadowvale; Anthony "Tony" (Diane), Wooler, Ont. and Larry (Louise), Calgary, Alberta. Sisters Norma (Wilfred) Smith, Dartmouth; Geraldine (Willie) Connell, Bridgetown and LaVerne (Bill) MacDonald, Edmonton, Alberta; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Norman; brothers David, Louis and Donald. By request, there will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31st, 2013 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448, Rev. Bill McLeod officiating.
